Finding Your way: Counselling Support for Young People in Leigh-on-sea and Southend

Experienced, Compassionate Support for Young People Aged 11 to 18
Alongside my private practice in Leigh-on-Sea, I have worked as a counsellor within a local secondary school, supporting young people aged 11 to 18 with the emotional, social, and mental health challenges that can come with growing up today.
Because of this work, I understand the pressures young people face, whether that’s anxiety, low mood, friendships, family difficulties, identity, self-esteem, exam stress or simply feeling overwhelmed.
I know how deeply these worries can impact your daily life, your sleep and your education. I also know how much courage it takes to open up to someone new.
My role isn’t to tell you what to do or to have all the answers. Instead, I offer a safe, supportive space where you can be yourself, explore what’s on your mind and begin to make sense of your thoughts and feelings. Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, helping you build confidence, resilience and a way forward that feels meaningful.
Sessions are available face to face in my comfortable therapy room in Leigh-on-Sea or online via Zoom or Microsoft Teams, giving you the flexibility to choose what feels most comfortable.
A Calm Space to Explore
A Personalised Path to Support
I do not use a rigid, one-size-fits-all model. Every person I work with is unique, so my approach adapts to meet your specific needs, personality and circumstances. I blend different therapeutic methods to create the most supportive path for you.
Sometimes, we might look at your past experiences to see how they continue to influence your thoughts and responses today. Other times, we will focus completely on the present moment, using practical grounding and breathing techniques inspired by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). These simple, everyday tools are designed to help you manage difficult moments with greater stability and restore a sense of calm when life feels like it is moving too fast. We safely blend these insights to help you grow, heal and find your own way forward.

Common Feelings I Can Help Young People With
Being a young person today comes with many different pressures. Sometimes it can feel difficult to make sense of your thoughts, emotions or experiences. Whatever you’re going through, I offer a supportive space where we can explore what’s happening and find ways to help you feel more confident and understood.
These are some of the areas we can work through together.
